Following a poll I did on instagram the majority of you wanted to know about the makeup and skincare products I got on my trip to the USA.
I’ll fill you guys in on the products, why I wanted them, a brief review if I’ve used them and also where you can find them in the UK.
The first product I got were the Ardell Wispies, I have heard so many great things but I hadn’t had the chance to try them so picked them up on a trip to Target! I love how these lashes looked, I use them when I want a subtle look. These lashes can be found in Boots, Superdrug and most drugstores in the UK.
The next product I got was the Valjean Labs Glow Facial Serum with Vitamin C and Magnesium. I got this product from TK Maxx and I have heard many good things about Valjean Serums in the past. I have been using the serum for about 4 months and I have seen a clear difference. My skin tone is finally starting to even out and I’ve definitely had a nicer glow but with all my skincare it is combined with keeping myself hydrated and watching what I eat (most times :)). This serum can be found online on eBay, amazon and urban outfitters and they have many other serums to suit different skincare needs.
Another product I got to add to my makeup routine was Magic Collection Rose Water Hydrating Mist. This mist can be used for the face, body and hair but I use it on my face. I got this from a drugstore and I use it before my setting spray to bring moisture to my face and make it less cakey/powdery. This brand cannot be found in the UK but there are many other brands of rose water available.
On my first trip to Sephora I had planned to buy a few things (fenty) but a lot of them were not in stock. A product I did purchase was the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer which is oil-free and pore minimising. As I have oily skin I though that this primer would be best for me but it is not as great as I thought. After a few hours my face gets oily. To make it more effective I use it with milk of magnesia and powder. The primer can be found in Boots, Debenhams and Selfridges at Smashbox counters.
The final and best product I bought was T.N Dickinson’s Witch Hazel. Witch Hazel has honestly been the best thing and was recommended to me by a beauty consultant in Macy’s. I’d heard good things before so I decided to try it out. For the last four months of using witch hazel my skin has cleared up completely. It helps prevent spots from excess oil and keeps the skin clear. I use it as a toner both in the morning and evening after cleansing my skin. Pure witch hazel can be found online or in Boots.
